  • When do you have availability?
    • I work on a fluid schedule to enable me to work within an author's timeframe. I typically turn manuscripts around within 12 business days from when I receive the first half of payment and manuscript (barring holidays, vacations, conferences, etc.). If you need something done within a faster timeframe, a 20 percent rush fee will be added to the total.
  • What do you need to save my spot?
    • I don't require authors to "save spots." I do like to know when authors are planning on turning in a manuscript so I can plan ahead a little and let authors know of times I'll be unavailable due to a holiday, vacation, or conference. When you are ready for edits, you'll simply send me your manuscript, I'll calculate the total based on the word count, and I'll bill for half of the balance up front. Once we've completed the 1, 2, or 3 rounds of edits in your package, I will bill for the second half of the balance.
  • How do I pay you?
    • I accept PayPal, Venmo, and Stripe.
  • Do you accept payment plans?
    • I have. Contact me to discuss your specific needs!
  • Will you provide an edit sample?
    • Absolutely. I know it's important to get a feel for the person you'll be working with. I will provide a sample edit of 5 pages, double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12pt font. Please be aware that for developmental/content/macro edits, this sample will not be fully indicative of my expertise, given the limited amount of the story I am seeing. Please also note that samples must start on page one of your manuscript.
  • What genres do you edit?
    • I edit all genres, but my speciality is fiction, specifically romance. I also love women's fiction, literary fiction, horror, thriller, suspense, fantasy, science fiction, paranormal, urban fantasy, and young adult.
  • Do you edit nonfiction?
    • Yes, on a case-by-case basis.
  • Is there anything you don't edit?
    • I do not edit children's books or middle grade books, as those are not within my areas of expertise. I do not edit books dealing with incest (pseudo-incest is fine!), bestiality, rape for titillation, or explicit sexual content between adults and minors. I will edit books regarding  or focusing on religion on a case-by-case basis.
  • Can you guarantee that my book will be contracted by a publishing house or represented by an agent?
    • I wish I could. Houses and agents are subjective, and I cannot make guarantees regarding publication or representation. What I can guarantee is that if you hire me, I'll be helping you put your best foot forward to publishers, agents, and readers. Whether your goal is to perfect before submitting or to self-publish, presenting a clean, marketable book is of the utmost importance.
  • I know some editors do not do phone calls. Do you?
    • I do! I find that many times it is easier to brainstorm through a plot and how to adjust certain aspects after I've performed my edits, sent you my editorial letter and the manuscript, and you've had a chance to go over it and let it marinate for a bit.
